The Leadville Depot Condos are fully restored, luxury 2 bdrm, 1 bath condos. The building is an old train depot, built in the late 1800's, early 1900's, and has been restored with modern day conveniences while maintaining some of the historic charm. Enjoy the glorious mountain views from your private deck or patio. Walk into town. Travel a few blocks to the Mineral Belt Trail. There is plenty of parking for your trailers and if you bring a lock you've got access to private storage!
All units have full size washer and dryer, Denver Mattress Company mattresses for comfort, and are triple sheeted like fine hotels. Your unit will be stocked with coffee and assorted K-pods, laundry pods, dishwasher pods, bath gel, shampoo/conditioner, and body lotion to get you started. There is also 6 bath towels, 2 hand towels and 6 wash cloths. Extra pillows are in closets.
In the 1960’s the building was Zalar Motor CO. In the 1980’s my husband bought the building when he needed to expand facilities for his carpet cleaning and restoration business. We used the building for this purpose into the early 1990’s. In the mid-late 1990’s we ran a tool and equipment rental business and throughout the early to mid-2000’s it was home to a roofing contractor and a mason and granite company. In 2016, we decided it was time to re-think the building and its useful life. That is when the Leadville Depot Condos began.
Of course, it wasn’t just smooth sailing, but after some remediation work and a new foundation the old building was ready for a renovation! The demolition took the building down to the studs. We were able to salvage most of the tongue and groove from the walls and save the ceilings! The tongue and groove from the walls is now the wainscoting on the exterior of the building and the backs of the kitchen islands. It’s also used on the bar in the new restaurant going in downtown in the KW Plaza at 6th and Harrison. From there we worked diligently to design around the interior floorplan around the Y beams that are the main support for the roof. Most of those you see are original! And we were able to maintain the incredible 14’ ceilings. The rest you can see for yourself. There was no expense spared – from granite countertops to stainless steel appliances to in floor heat and wood floors. The custom lighting and TREX decking with LED lights are just some of the extras that make this place even more comfortable and enjoyable.
